Dubliner Cheese at Taste of Dublin in the Iveagh Gardens 2009
The sun shone, the crowds mingled, the champagne popped, and the Dubliner Cheese stand was packed! It could only be the Taste of Dublin at the Iveagh Gardens.
As usual there was a huge range of restaurants, bars, brands and more, eager to showcase their products to the thousands of visitors. We made the most of the unfair advantage that delicious Dubliner Cheese gives us – because who can resist the lure of the scent of a toasted cheese sandwich?
We had queues all day long, every day, but with a little team work and a lot of banter – we managed to keep up with demand! It wasn’t all work though! We took turns to slip away and visit other stands and sample some of the amazing food on offer. It really is a great day out, and I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be back again in 2010!
It’s a Woman’s World: Dubliner at The RDS, June 2009
We had great fun on the first sunny weekend of the year at the RDS Simmonscourt getting all the girls ready for their Flora Mini Marathon on Monday of the June Bank Holiday. Over 100 exhibitors were on hand at the Woman’s World Show at the RDS Simmonscourt, which incorporated registration for the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon.
Our Light Dubliner Toasties went down a treat and almost 15,000 of you ladies all agreed that Dubliner Light Cheese is an ideal treat for those quick and easy toasted sandwiches! With make-overs, wine tasting, make-up, tanning, jewellery, handbag, nail and hair exhibits to see, as well as stands on footwear, fitness testing and healthy eating, the show was an ideal girls’ day out.
Many other companies, such as Muller, Linwoods and Dunn’s Seafood were offering free tastings, while Lyons Gold Blend invited all for a refreshing cuppa to wash down those Light Dubliner Toasties! At the Bulmer’s Light stand, you could win a trip for two in a hot air balloon. Entry to the show was free to all women participating in the mini marathon along with a friend. The event organizers provided great Fashion and Accessories, Wine Tasting, Sportswear and of course Healthy Eating such as our Dubliner Light Cheese.
Dubliner Light Cheese
Dubliner Light Cheese, launched in August 2008, has the same great texture and taste as regular Dubliner, but it contains 33% less fat. And it’s packed with billions of probiotic bacteria per serving, boosting immune systems and promoting good digestion.
What else, you ask. Well, it’s got calcium and zinc, vitamins A and B12 and now, in a first for manufacturers Carbery, those probiotic bacteria we mentioned already. What does that all mean? Well, goodness that tastes delicious, for one thing. ”The link between diet and health has never been stronger, and it can often feel like the fun has been taken out of food,” said JJ Walsh of Carbery. “But Dubliner Light Cheese has to be tasted to be believed.”
The award-winning Dubliner brand of cheese is made to a traditional recipe and distributed around the world. What a lucky world! Smooth to the palate, it leaves a gentle, sweet, lingering aftertaste. It’s available in a range of varieties and styles: Vintage, Regular, White, Red, Sliced, Grated, and now… Light.

Light-hearted survey results from Dubliner Light Cheese
When we launched Dubliner Light Cheese we had a fun survey to find out who the most famous Dubliners are, apart from us, of course. Surprise surprise, the list included Colin Farrell, Bertie Ahern, Bono, Ronnie Drew and Rosanna Davison. (She’s the one in red above. The other lady is our very own Ann Acheson.)
We asked our survey sample some other questions too, and we were delighted that so many of them (well over half) were well clued in on dietary and health issues. What would they reduce by a third if they could? Plenty of sensible answers came back, including smoking, stress, debt and even bum size. The answers were prompted by the fact that Dubliner Light’s fat content is reduced by 33%.
But the world-shattering revelation has to be that almost half of those questioned said they preferred their cheese melted, while the rest insisted that straight from the fridge was best!
Ok, maybe it’s not that amazing, but who knows? It could be an eerily accurate new way to help you judge the perfect partner - how hot or cool they are! Forget where they squeeze the toothpaste - do they like their Dubliner Light from the grill or the fridge?
